I work as a User Researcher, UX Designer and UI designer on the mobile version of the Nike Run Club app.
Overview
The Nike Run Club (NRC) app is a popular app used by runners around the world to track their running activities. At first glance, it is a formidable app, equipped with in-app coaching, tracking device sync, playlist linking, and educational reading etc, the list can go on.
That does not mean it cannot be made better.
We spoke to runners and non-runners, noted their running ventures, tried out the app ourselves, and made notes on why a few changes to NRC can propel it from good to great!
Problem Statement
- How might we enhance the social engagement in the app to motivate people to run?
- How might we create a community platform for our audience to share their running achievements and support each other?
